Nicholas and I jumped on the train to Copenhagen (only 40 minutes) and here's what we saw.
You are extremely fortunate to be able to see this first picture. Not because it's particularly astounding or breathtaking; although the sky does look wicked and the wind turbines on the water are difficult to imagine. The luck of this picture is that it's among about 10 attempts to get a clear view without a huge black obstruction; the passing of which can be seen in the bottom left corner.

A view from the bridge connecting Copenhagen and Malmö |
Forty minutes later we arrive in the Copenhagen train terminal.
As Copenhagen is relatively easy and cheap to get to, we did not bother planning our trip in any real way. So, once we left the train station we took a random direction, found a museum showcasing the town's history, went to the King's Garden, and among other wanderings eventually returned home.

Pillar of Liberty |
The Pillar of Liberty is found directly outside of the train terminal, and represents the freedom of the lower class people. Here is a description given by the museum:
"Outside Vesterport the Pillar of Liberty was erected by the citizens of Copenhagen in 1792. It symbolized the people's joy over the abolition of adscription. The peasant was now considered a free man in accordance with the bourgeois ideal. Simultaneously steps were taken -- through land reforms -- to ensure that the peasants could free themselves from the existing feudal ties."
The Museum
I do not remember its name, but here's pictures. :)

Cool style of paintings |

Showcasing some old school Danish royal instruments |

Among the first motorized bicycles
Museums are generally stale at the onset, so I didn't see it fit to post too many pictures. |
The following pictures were taken on route to the King's Garden from 'The Museum'.

'Det Ny Teater: The New Theater' |

Leave your van parked in an obscure location, and BAM! free decals (1) |

Tycho Brahe Planetarium |

Apparently has a room displaying over 4000 stars and the planets of our solar system |

Cool color scheme |

Sunset across the river we walked along |
|
Nilen; one of two monuments along the entrance to a bridge. How many wives do you think he had? |
|
Tiberen; Red eyes and an ankle bracelet, vandals are everywhere |
Made to the King's Garden just as the darkness began to rise. Obviously it's the middle of winter, so the garden was not too impressive. During the spring it would be coated with flower pedals. Looks like I'll be visiting Copenhagen at least once more.
|
"My horse must have gone down this long path of well placed trees" thinks the King |
|
"Ah shit! This lion is eating my ride" |
|
"Someone reach down and pull out my horse!" |
|
Built to commemorate this great story |
That's it folks. I promise my Belgium excursion will be better told. :)
