I haven't any pictures of the 2000+ international students studying in Scandinavian countries that gathered for a cruise from Stockholm to Tallinn in Estonia, so I will not comment much about it here. I will say that a buffet with free beer and wine was offered the first night on board. I believe that explains the brevity of this post.

Budapest
Eastern Europe has many lesser known treasures to behold. Western Europe is much more famous, and attracts a much larger and more diverse population of travellers, but I cherish memories from Eastern Europe that are equally as great, if not superior to those from Western Europe. Thus far I've discovered some parts of Poland that surprised me, but this trip to Budapest, Hungary has really shown me the beauty of this part of the world.

Barcelona
There is much more to Barcelona than what Gaudí has done with it. In this post we will dive into the entertaining walking street: La Rambla, take a look at some true European spirit, and show the value of wandering aimlessly and taking short cuts through parks.

Gaudí's Barcelona - el Parc Güell and la Sagrada Familia
This post is a continuation of the last post about Gaudí. In here we will explore el Parc Güell and la Sagrada Familia. The first is a park fully immersed in Gaudí's designs and creativity. It is both beautiful and captivating, and a great place to kill a hangover ;). La Sagrada Familia is Gaudí's masterpiece and his final project.
Gaudí's Barcelona - Casa Battló
I've got lots of pictures from Barcelona and a decent amount to tell, so this post will focus on the architecture; particularly the architecture of Antoni Gaudí (1852 - 1926).
Barcelona has been said to be Gaudí's city, and it's very obvious as to why once you take a short tour around the city. His work is spread across Barcelona and spans projects from the extortionate Casa Battló to the captivating Parc Güell and his final masterpiece: la Sagrada Familia.Wednesday, April 6, 2011
Gdansk, Sopot, and Gdynia (Poland)
For me, thoughts of Poland before this trip did not conjure anything beautiful. My thoughts would hinge on the fact that Poland is a war torn country and simply didn't have time to be artistic. I certainly did not expect beautiful colourful architecture, a finely crafted town hall, expansive beaches, or friendly and generous people. In fact, it was only because of a connecting flight that we stayed in Poland for two days. And the appearance of this story shows that there is something to be told of those two days.

Belgium - Liège, Brugges, and Brussels
Over the course of six days, I visited the cities of Liège, Bruges, Brussels, and Maastricht (Netherlands). Nick and I were fortunate to have a friend to stay with, which made the trip everything that it was.
Copenhagen (Köpenhamn)
Nicholas and I jumped on the train to Copenhagen (only 40 minutes) and here's what we saw.

4 Swedes, an Icelandic girl, and the Canadian
I have been blessed with good company for much of my life, and living in Sweden is no different. Six of us occupy this corridor and here's how we look for our first party, looking forward to the next :)
Lund Cathedral
The Cathedral here in Lund is a great landmark. It has helped me gather my bearing a few times already, and will continue to do so until I know my way around. Otherwise, it is also a very popular tourist attraction.

Manås
The most artistic forest I've ever seen, literally. The Manås site is home to an art community that challenges traditions and provokes thought. Each summer new pieces are installed in this area, and I was a part of a group given a tour of the land. I will provide explanations to the work that should receive it.

Jag bor i Lund
Pics, pics, and pics. Here I will try to capture the beauty of Lund as I see it through my eyes. Or more accurately through the lens of my digital camera. As the days go by, more sunlight will drive away the grey atmosphere and expose the natural scenery. This post will grow in size with time, and better characterize why the Swedes love their country, and this city.
